Michael H. Carroll

Mike is a computing professional who lives in Galway city, Ireland. He is employed by Ireland's largest bank. He is the technical developer behind much of the database and search facilities provided on this web site. His own research covers the Killursa/Cargin area of north Co. Galway. Members of his family, like many others from that area, emigrated to Wilmington, DE in the late 19th century. He published his Carroll family history in 2000 titled Valley of the Milk

Currently Mike is enhancing this site and also published his second historical literary effort - Of Beauty Rarest - A History of Clydagh National School, Headford, Co. Galway in conjunction with the local community to celebrate 150 years of schooling there. This book was launched in Headford in April 2002. He is also involved in a community based project to restore and conserve Cargin Cemetery near Headford in County Galway. Visit for more details.
