Meet The Volunteers

Terri Elliott and Jeanne Mudge

We are the two oldest of six children and both of us reside in Vero Beach, FL.  Our lives have been a mixture of working when not raising kids, volunteering, participating in charitable events, various hobbies, and watching the family grow!

The research of our Rogers ancestors from Wilmington started with a few facts and a lot of fiction.  We know now that our great, great grandmother Elizabeth Rogers was born in 1841 and her family migrated to Wilmington from County Tyrone, IE shortly after she was born.  Her parents were Patrick and Alice (Bradley) Rogers and so far we’ve discovered several siblings: two brothers, Peter and Matthew Rogers and sisters Alice Rogers, Rosanna Rogers Clark, and (very possibly) Mary J. Rogers Batterbury.  Elizabeth had one son, John Alphonsus Rogers, whose father was John H. Thatcher of Wilmington.  Later in life she married a Bradford from Wilmington, probably James.   We would love to discover living relatives or more information on our Rogers clan!

When we found this web site we found a gold mine of family information!  Our gratitude is enormous and transcription of records is a way for us to “give something back.”  We were not surprised to find how much we thoroughly enjoy the experience!
