Kathleen Higgins Anstaett After the death of my mother in 1997, I found family history records in her files and this peaked my interest in genealogy. One of my first discoveries was that my father was 100% Irish. I am a native Ohioan; however my great grandparents first resided in and were married in Wilmington, Delaware. In 2002 I attended a reunion held in Conna, County Cork where we celebrated the 154th anniversary of the immigration of my Regan ancestors. On this same trip I met the Higgins Family still residing in Ballycottin, County Cork and saw the ancestral home. My Irish ancestral names are:
2. Healy/Haley immigrated 1855 from Ballyvourney, County Cork 3. Regan migrated to Canada 1848 from Conna, County Cork 4. Hickey migrated to Canada 1848 from Conna, County Cork 5. Harrigan migrated to Canada 1846 from County Cork I am a member of the Irish Genealogical Society International, Irish Family History Society and the Madison County, Ohio Genealogical Society. I also volunteer at the Family History Center in Centerville, Ohio. |
