On the twenty-eighth day of the month of March in the year 1798, I, the undersigned pastor of the above mentioned Catholic Church in Wilmington in accordance with the rites and forms of the above mentioned church, married Sieur Claude Henry Etienne Bernard De Sassenay, son of the late Francois Marie Bernard De Sassenay and the late Henriette Flora Feydau De Brou, born in Dijon in France and Demoiselle Fortunée Prudence Julienne, to Claudine Bretton Deschapelles, daughter of the deceased Jean Baptiste Francois Bretton Des Chapelles and of the late Claudine De Launay, her mother, born in Boncassin Parish in the area of L’Arcahaye on the island of St. Domingue.

Witnesses: Mellieurn Louis Hector De Moin D’orbigny, and Pierre Henry Dupont de Gault and his wife, Mellieurn Jean Baptiste Esteve, and Jean Garesché DuRocher, and his wife, and others who have signed with us as well as the contracting parties and friends.
