On the ninth of January 1801, we, the undersigned Vicar-Prefect Apostolic, Superior General of the mission in the north of the island of St. Domingue, placed in charge by my Lord Bishop of Baltimore of the above mentioned Catholic church in Wilmington, state of Delaware have buried the body of the deceased Sieur Jean Baptiste Esteves former Seneschal and Lieutenant General of the Admiralty of Cap Francais in the isle of St. Domingue, a native of Montpellier, died at the age of 78.
